The Ackerman is a professional X8 Cinelifter built for FPV Pilots who demand uncompromising reliability, precision, and performance. Every component has been thoughtfully engineered, from its modular construction and tool-free camera mount to its low-resonance airframe and quick-release battery system - to maximize efficiency both in the air and on set.

As a professional FPV pilot and MultiGP World Championship podium finisher, I've spent thousands of hours flying drones at the absolute limit. One thing became clear: while racing drones continued to evolve, many heavy-lift cinelifters prioritized payload capacity at the expense of flight performance.

The Ackerman was created to challenge that tradeoff.

Rather than simply building another heavylift platform, we set out to design a cinelifter that captures the responsiveness, and connected feel of a racing drone, while carrying professional cinema cameras with confidence.

Every design decision, from the rigid low-resonance frame to the optimized weight distribution and modular construction, was made with one goal in mind:

Build a cinema drone that flies like an FPV drone should.

Fast Battery Changes. Zero Compromise.

Inspired by the proven Straw Hat battery release system, the Ackerman refines the concept of a carbon fiber rail and instead a durable lightweight nylon surface. The result is a quick-release mechanism that's stronger, smoother, and designed to withstand years of repeated battery swaps.

For maximum longevity, we recommend reinforcing the battery plate with fiberglass tape and using Dual Lock or Velcro to secure the landing plate. This creates a secure connection while allowing the landing plate to be swapped in seconds for transport or maintenance.

Tool-Free Camera Adjustments

The Ackerman features the proven FANG camera mounting system, allowing rapid camera angle adjustments without disassembling your drone or reaching for tools.

Two precision thumb screws let you dial in the perfect camera angle in seconds, making it easy to adapt between slow cinematic flights and aggressive high-speed runs. The lightweight design also reduces unnecessary weight compared to traditional mounting systems.

A universal camera mount is currently in development and will be available in a future release very soon!

Engineered for Exceptionally Clean Noise

Every component of the Ackerman was designed with vibration control as a priority while maintaining impossibly low weight. Through careful structural engineering and optimized load paths, the frame minimizes resonance and mechanical noise before it ever reaches the flight controller.

The result is cleaner gyro data, lower filtering requirements, and a drone that feels remarkably connected in the air—delivering the responsiveness of a racing platform while carrying professional cinema payloads.
